    Christian Counseling

Are you looking for a counselor who will understand and respect that your number one priority is building a relationship with God? Do you want to work with someone who is rooted in their faith and can offer guidance from a biblical perspective? Are you seeking therapy from someone who has been specifically trained in providing Christian Counseling? If so, you are in the right place!

    My approach to Christian Counseling

I am a Christian whose faith is the foundation of my life and the central component of my marriage and parenting. My faith also informs the way that I provide counseling. My approach to Christian Counseling is integrative. This involves incorporating both psychological theories and techniques as well as biblical concepts into my work with clients. I believe in healing your whole being including mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual and have received specialized training in helping clients do so.

The psychological treatment approaches that I use align with the Bible which I believe is the source of all truth. For example, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches which focus on identifying and changing distorted thoughts and behaviors and aligning your thought life with biblical truths. I also help you rewrite your narrative as the stories that we tell ourselves are often not based in God’s truth. The bible directs believers many times to take control of our thoughts which I believe leads to stability and well-being.

I also take a strengths-based, compassion focused approach to counseling which I believe is biblical. We may focus on God’s grace and forgiveness, Bible verses relevant to your specific symptoms, exploring how your spiritual life influences your relationships, and ways to develop a deeper connection with God.

If you or someone you love is interested in exploring Christian Counseling, please be in touch with me. I would be happy to discuss how I may be able to help.
